Marius St. Croix was the firstborn child of a rich and eccentric father, Ambassador Cartier St. Croix, a wealthy former president of several corporations from Monaco, and his wife, a descendant of Algerian royalty. He was born in Algiers, Algeria. When his mutant powers first manifested, he was overcome by an intense hunger, and killed his mother. After their grieving father threw him out[ he found himself living on the streets, before being taken in by Safron Caulder and her little daughter Brielle. Still, he couldn’t live with what he had become and turned to George Baker to fix him. However, Baker deceived him and made him become trapped in another dimension. Calling hiimself D.O.A., Baker then assumed the role of Marius’ servant.
