The Ultimate Toy Biz X-Men Checklist & Archive

The Uncanny X-Men Series 5 (1993)

Series 5 of the X-Men ToyBiz line is notable for a handful of reason. Larger figures in the form of the Brood and Professor X were becoming more popular. This is also the first X-Men toy line that did not include a Wolverine or have any notable variations of paint schemes. This series managed to introduce a few lesser known characters while also updating sculpts for previously made main characters.

Maverick was set to be introduced in this series however he wasn’t released with the rest and instead came in a Kay-Bee Toys Exclusive two pack with Trevor Fitzroy.

Only the combined powers of the X-Men, X-Factor, the New Mutants and the Fantastic Four were able to put a stop to Ahab’s murderous rampage through our time in the past. Should he reappear, who knows what havoc he might wreak!

Variations & Reissues:

Additional Notes: The sculpt for this figure was reminiscent of the Series 1 toys and not nearly as detailed as its companions in this line. It also was the first X-Men figure to include a spring firing weapon

Variations & Reissues:

Additional Thought: With a fairly basic sculpt and not a well known character this was an interesting choice to add into the line.

• Professor X

Action Gimmick: Flip Out Control Panels

Flavor Text: The most powerful mutant telepath on Earth, Professor X traveled the world researching the effects of genetic mutation. Through the years, Professor X has held true to this idealistic dream, working toward a future in which all people can live together in peace!

Variations & Reissues:

Additional Notes: Finally in Series 5 we have a figure for the founder of the X-Men. While not the most exciting figure to be produced it was inevitable that Professor X would join the lineup.

Figure Code: 4924

Accessories: None

Action Gimmick: Snarl & Swipe Action

Flavor Text: Sabretooth is just one of the several man-made killers created by the Weapon-X project. Once an ally of Wolverine, he is now one of the most vicious of the X-Men’s foes. With his fearsome claws, sharp teeth and innate savagery, Sabretooth has a bloodlust that is rivaled only by his hate for Wolverine!

Variations & Reissues:

Additional Notes: Sculpted to more accurately represent the comic book and cartoon version, this is the first figure to have an opening jaw.
